A little vase of joy.

Flowers are a simple way of brightening up a room and bringing a touch of the outdoors into your living space. They can be used as a focal point in a room, to add colour or just as a pretty thing to look at. I always pick my flowers up reduced which probably won't come as a surprise if you have read my previous posts on being a proud yellow sticker merchant. If you haven't already then check them out:

Here are some of the recent flowers I have bought for a bargain price:

Daffodils: 'The Heralds of Spring'

A touch of colour can work wonders!

I picked up these little beauties just before the whiteout came and with the backdrop of snow this is a perfect juxtaposition. Daffodils have always been referred to as the heralds of spring and with their vibrant colour they are perfect to welcome in the change in season. At 59p a bunch they were a steal and really helped cheer me up whilst the winter freeze had descended on us!

Add a touch of elegance with some tulips...

Dainty and elegant - just beautiful!

My pretty tulips are currently residing on my window ledge in my bedroom and they are a great contrast to the blackcurrant colour scheme. At 30p these are an absolute steal and will add a touch of elegance to any room!

Absolutely gorgeous!

I am always careful to pick reduced flowers which aren't on their way out as most of the time they can't be salvaged. More often than not I buy reduced flowers which are still in the bud form or look slightly droopy. If they come with a flower feed then this will perk them up and you will often get a good week out of them.

Although a simple touch to any living space flowers can really bring contentment and a splash of colour. So next time you do your weekly shop have a gander at the reduced flowers bit and you may have a cheap bunch of joy to take home :) Don't be put off if they don't seem at their best as with a bit of TLC they will be blooming in no time.
