Little miracles for hands and lips.

If there's one thing I hate about winter it's chapped hands and lips. Throughout the cold months I battle to try and keep my hands and lips in good condition and I just wanted to share the products I use and would recommend. They don't cost the earth so if you're looking for affordable hand and lip care try these out if you haven't already.

Lips

The main three products I use on my lips are Vaseline, Carmex and a Body Shop lip butter.

Three little miracles for lips.

Vaseline is a staple in my make-up bag and I have used it for the longest time. At the moment I'm using a pocket sized Vaseline which contains aloe vera. The brilliant thing about Vaseline is that it can also be used on skin as well as lips - so it is handy to keep in your handbag in case of a dry skin emergency. Vaseline is usually less than £2.00 so it is a cheap and versatile staple to keep handy.

I have always loved carmex and with the new range of squeezy tubes in multiple flavours they are another great addition to any make-up bag. Unlike Vaseline the squeezy tube means that you can apply directly to your lips without any greasy residue on your fingers. It is also a thicker consistency than Vaseline and has more of a lipgloss effect. I am currently using the cherry Carmex tube which smells delicious! It is cheap too coming in at around £2-3.

The final lip care I am using is a coconut lip butter from the Body shop. It smells beautiful and gives a lovely sheen to your lips. Out of the three products I use this is the most expensive at £4.00 but well worth it for the smell and effect it gives to your lips.

 Hands

The two products I am currently using for my hands are a cream from the Body Shop and a lotion from the Simple range.

Perfect for dry skin on hands.

The first cream is a very recent purchase from the Body Shop. It is from the 'Hemp' range which is specialised for very dry skin. I had been recommended the hemp hand protector cream and decided to give it a go. A 100ml tube is usually £10.00 but they had a half price offer on hand creams when I bought it. It has a lovely fragrance which I can only describe as 'spa-like' and very fresh. It is quite a heavy cream and a little greasy so I would usually put it on before bed to give it plenty of time to soak in. I wouldn't recommend it as a day cream for this reason. Give it a go if you have dry skin on your hands as it really does do the trick!

An old favourite of mine is an intensive relief lotion from Simple. It can be used on the hands, body and face and is designed for very dry, sensitive skin prone to eczema and dermatitis. Unlike the hemp hand protector, this lotion is non-greasy and soaks into your skin really quickly. So if you need to get fast relief from problematic skin then this is the one to get. The great thing about Simple is that their products are perfume and colour free so are perfect for sensitive skin. I can't remember how much I paid for it as it was a while ago but I think it was less than £4.00. It has lasted me ages so well worth the money!

If your struggling to keep your hands and lips in tip top condition then why not give these a whirl. They won't break the bank and will last you ages.

If any of you have any little miracles for hands and lips then please comment below.

Tilly x
